“Shepherds Hut, a great experience for a family”
My first ever review, and I guess we were an unusual case, a family of four staying out in the Shepherds Hut during mid winter.
A last minute idea during “Crimbo Limbo” week ended up being a really nice two nights stay on a real working farm.
With two young boys we wanted to stay where we could be comfortable and not worrying about hushing them down for other guests. The shepherds hut was perfect.
The small but perfectly formed living accommodation is separated between two spaces with one being your sleeping/bathroom area and the the other being the kitchen/eating area. However the main benefit of this accommodation is the outdoors. You are in your own separate space on the farm in the middle of beautiful countryside, about a mile along a track from the main road.
A wood burner in the sleeping cabin was great and we enjoyed the fire pit one evening also.
Jill was accommodating, helpful and professional. Her breakfasts inside the farmhouse were also lovely.
Tim took the time to show us the farm on our last morning, which was really fascinating and the boys loved it.
A lovely place to stay and a really fantastic overall experience. – Jason

“The Shepherd Hut and Snug”
Wow it was a fantastic 2nights. The hut was decorated beautifully and even had a toilet inside. The log burner kept the hut lovely and cosy too.
Breakfast served to your doorstep was second to none and the meat hamper was delicious.
The fire pit just behind the hut provided many hours of relaxing and warmth in the cooler evenings.
Jill was fantastic, she met us on arrival showed us where everything was and the left us too it, she was not at all intrusive and even bought us extra marshmallows for the fire pit.
The setting … WOW… All you can see are hills, grass, livestock and sky. Not a house in sight bar the farm house. It is at the very end on a dirt track lane which means you can hear nothing but birds and livestock.
Fantastic 15/10 I would recommend to anyone, by far the best place I have been. – Holly
